We like to give thanks for Thanksgiving
We at Honeydew Health are always up for a challenge and Sandy, our client and marketing co-ordinator has accepted a new one! To give thanks for a local hospice.
On Sunday the 24th November, Sandy and over 70 other local runners took part in the annual 1 mile Santa Dash around their local village of Downham Market to raise money for the Dyspraxia Foundation West Norfolk: a country wide charity aimed at supporting and helping those with a dyspraxia diagnosis in the family. But the Santa races don’t stop there.
On the 7th Dec, Sandy will be running slightly further, 5k (or 3.1miles to some) and hopefullyslightly faster! Thankfully all runners will be dressed as Santa (not just Sandy), as we all know that fake beards make you run faster…or so they say.
But once again, this run has a purpose and this time it is for the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House which as you will see is a cause close to the hearts of many and exactly why we should give thanks.
The Norfolk Hospice provides care, comfort and compassion to those in their community nearing the end of their lives and to their families and friends.
People referred to their service have a variety of life-limiting conditions, including the many forms of cancer, heart and lung conditions, and neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Parkinson’s Disease.
So, seeing as its Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner, perhaps you could donate here just a few pounds to make sure that others are helped this festive season. The aim is to raise at least £150 which is perfectly achievable if everyone that reads this blog were to donate just a small amount.
Given that Sandy will look very silly, will be very cold, and has been training very hard – let’s all make her efforts worthwhile and give thanks for Thanksgiving!
Have you got something to give thanks for? Please let us know as we would love to feature it on our social media pages.
