CHEP UK shortlisted for Personnel Today Occupational Health Awards 2013
Honeydew client, CHEP UK, has been shortlisted for the Award for Absence Management 2013 by Personnel Today. CHEP has been implementing modern technology and proactive management strategies in tackling absence for many years. Malene Nielsen, MD of Honeydew Health, has worked with CHEP for 7 years improving attendance, and since April 2013 their absence management programme has been powered by Honeydew’s cutting edge Day-1 absence reporting service and Engage technology.
Personnel Today editor Rob Moss said of the shortlist that “all those that have made the shortlist should be really pleased with themselves. We’ve been inundated with entries and I must extend my sincerest thanks to our panel of expert judges who have had the really hard task of deciding which entries really stand out.”
CHEP can certainly be proud of their achievement in absence management: they have reduced absence from 8% to below 2% since 2006 and are now focusing on key initiatives for employee wellbeing and engagement as preventative measures.
CHEP use Honeydew’s call centre service and all staff absence is reported 24/7 via our data administrators. The instant messages sent to managers ensure that all relevant parties know about the absence immediately and any policy triggers and required actions are prompted to managers straight away. The automatic trigger mechanisms give the HR team confidence that company policy is followed consistently across the multi-site business. The triggers also prompt managers to refer more serious cases for further medical support via Honeydew-Vista Occupational Health services. As with everything that Honeydew does, the OH service provision is also underpinned by a technology platform that streamlines and simplifies the referral and reporting process. Any issues or training needs will quickly be picked up by our data. The senior management and HR teams together with an Expert Panel that consists of absence management, occupational health, legal and health&safety experts looks after employees’ wellbeing and the company’s productivity.
Honeydew are very pleased to work with CHEP as a trusted partner and wish CHEP the best of luck with the Occupational Health Awards 2013. The winners will be announced at Personnel Today’s annual award ceremony on 18th November so watch this space for the results!
